I used Tamiya German grey for the IP and followed it up with AK paint markers for the black instruments. Needs a bit of touch up but I like the paint markers.

Latest update work progressing.

I decided to use the kit supplied seatbelts, well I think so. I sprayed them with Mr Surfacer 1500than applied AK lacquer radome tan, went pack and used AK RLM 02 ro rhw section needed and than Mr Hobby silver.

How are the Airscale decals to apply? I have a set in 1:72, but haven't used them yet.

Re the interior colours, as Wojtek said, there were earlier and later shades of RLM 02 and RLM 66.
AK have a set (#AK11722), with shades of both, from 1938 and 1941.

Well it's obvious that I haven't gotten the art of painting PE and making it stick. THe seatbelts as soon as I folded them to fit the paint went.....

in 1/72 I would need an electron microscope. Get the layout of the cockpit, altimeter, manifold, airspeed etc... the set should break down where each is located IE 1 is altimeter, 2 is airspeed etc.. cut which you want. I paint the indicator and then gloss coat. when you place the decal it takes a bit of work to center it. Micro set helps but it will still take a bit. I do one maybe to and let dry as it's pretty easy to bmp out an earlier one. other than that look great but time an ppppppaticatince (see I can't even say it without stuttering) are needed.

Just got some of those myself. Now, the first thing I do with P.E. belts is to form them over the unpainted seat first and then paint; no more flaking or chipping paint

I'm working on the rudder straps, I tried lightly sanding (2000 grit) first and enamel (Testors) leather paint. I'll see how that does.

Ok, so the Metallic Details seatbelts and very thin, Nicely done but thin, (about the same as the PE) so they are delicate. I think a bit long but doable. I like the looks....
