I don't know, maybe the Whitley? The B-18 was a successful anti-sub ship with radar.

Put me in the B-18. I don't know much about it but the DC-3 seemed to be able to take a beating. Was it based on a DC-3 or was it the DC-2?
 
I think I remember reading that the B-18 was made of both DC-2 and DC-3 components. I think the wings were DC-2, but the tail was DC-3. I think it also had Wright R-1820 Cyclones, like the DC-2 and early DC-3.

I believe you're correct..
 
My second choice would be the Ju-86. Mostly because they have the Junkers name on them. Well anything would be better than the Whitley. That was mean of me to say about the Whitley. It was a good costal command plane.
