sorry to say no. Baer and his crew were shot down by a Mossie intruder after he had shot another MOssie over the north Sea. they were in the process of landing and were hit. 80 % damage. after healing they flew another from 4th staffel then a transfer to II./NJG 5 where he became CO of the gruppe, killed in a Bf 110G-4 over Parchim field when one engine failed the other two crew members bailed successfully.
What would be the date of those events? Shooting a Mossie is a thing, as the Mossie is much faster then Baer was flying. And who did get the Bf 110 kill?
I want to say August of 43 for the shoot down and no Baer was KIA well as results of an accident over Parchim. I need to check further of the Mossie downing.
