After 25+ years I am attempting to get back into modeling again. I'm probably starting out with one that is a lil too complex for my skill level but screw it. Its about me being happy and enjoying it. I'll just take my time and do my best.

With everything going on in my life, I might be irregular working on it. And hour or two year, and then getting back to in a week or two. The life of work and having young kids.

This Eduard Kit is pretty detailed with lots of photo-etched parts. First time working with photo-etched parts.

So please be gentle with me, I'm no where close to being experienced as you all. But like I said all that matters is me having fun, right?

If that Eduard kit gets to be too mush for you'll don't give up on model building. Try something simpler like one of the Hobbycraft 109's. They're simple, can be found on ebay rather cheep and still build into a decent looking 109

I have to say these 1/48 scale photo-etched parts is not fun with my eyes. Trying to fit and glue these little cockpit instrument panels is a bitch. 😝

No, I won't give up. I will finish this. I will just take my time.

This is about my mental health more than anything. When my kids were born and I went back to school to finish my masters I put so much of my hobbies on hold. I stopped collecting, I stopped modeling, I stopped flying, etc.

Now my kids are 7 and 9, and I have decided I can put more time into myself too now that my kids are more self sustaining. I still have to devote a lot of time to them, but I can also work on my wellbeing again.

So I am taking up modeling again. Going to start flying again in the new year. Get current again, and start working on my instrument license. Working toward my military history museum. Taking my time to slowly do it all, and not burn myself out.
