In my castle....
What might their Bf 109G-14's have looked like? Were they Erla built?

Fhr. Siegfried Leese, 14./JG53, Bf 109G-14, WNr 464137, Black 6, MIA - Bodenplatte.
Fhr. Wolfgang Rosenberger, 15./JG53, Bf 109G-14, WNr 462828, Yellow 12, MIA - Bodenplatte.

A bit off the usual 13's, but, both were reported as MIA during Bodenplatte, both only 19 years of age.

🤨🤔

The G-14 seem to have had a T1 or T2 tail unit in the blocks that I'm looking at, the one in the kit looks like a T2....

This is giving me grey hairs, good fun though!

So... either the taller metal one with one trim tab for the rudder or the taller wooden one with three trim tabs for the rudder.

To be honest the difference between the metal and wooden tail is the horizontal panel line on the fin of the metal skin. So it is enough to fill the panel line with some putty and you have the wooden one.

It's the wooden type. Sand down the two protruding trim tabs and you have the wooden tail with one trim tab. Or engrave the panel line on the fin slightly below the rudder mass balance and you'll get the metal one.
