This is the second of the three 1/48th scale Smer Italian fighters I made about 8 years ago. The kit was very basic with heavy rivet detail, and the assembled airframe did require quite a bit of sanding and filling. It was an early attempt at airbrushing a complicated camo scheme and I hadn't mastered doing fine lines yet to say the least, but it was a big step for me at the time.

There is something about those Italian birds isn't there?I have this kit in the stash myself and yeah it has no pit but does represent the lines of the 55 pretty well.I like this one Glenn looks pretty good esp. trying to airbrush smoke rings is scary.Cheers
