I always have fun with models but some are more fun than others. In this case, the mold is from 1973 as you will see in the final picture, the advancement of technology is astounding. There were fit issues between the canopy parts and the lack of cockpit detail and optional position of flaps that are available on the new Airfix P-51 show this. My own shortcomings show up with a missing wheel well door on the right landing leg and slightly misaligned pitot tubes.

The cover over the machine guns is nice but I know it will go missing some day.

I give my work area a cleaning and last look for the missing parts and this time it paid off. Under the table where I could have stepped on it was the missing gear door. It is glued on and I took a new view to add to the finished series. I again want to thank A4K for sending me the "no step" red stripes for the flaps.
