This Beau represents a machine from 96 Squadron RAF which was a night fighter unit. There are a few photos of the actual aircraft online which appears posed during rearmament. Captions state the photos were taken at Drem in Scotland in 1943 although the squadron history for this period suggests they had converted to the Mosquito at that time.
The building of the kit was very enjoyable and therefore quite quick. The usual standard of engineering you have come to expect from Tamiya. Paints are also Tamiya acrylics which were applied by airbrush. Weathering was kept light as photos of the plane looked very clean. I did a watercolour paint wash and a bit of exhaust and gun staining. A few scratches were added using a silver artists pencil.
So on to the photos....
And there you have it!
Thanks to you all for looking in and commenting
