First question. How deep are your pockets?
If you have to have one book on the Fleet Air Arm then it just has to be this.

Published in 2016, (is it really 10 years ago!) it is a much expanded version of "Squadrons of the Fleet Air Arm" that was first published in 1984 and again in expanded form in 1994. Brief squadron histories, aircraft operated, timeline of movements, bases, carriers, COs, aircraft makings etc, etc, the list goes on.
A lot of information from it is incorporated in the RN Air Squadrons sub-site on the Royal Navy Research Archive site that can be found below (note the forum page attracts little traffic, maybe because it has proved, for me at least, so difficult to log on to consistently).
There have been numerous autobiographies written over the years of individual's time in the FAA. Titles like

War in a Stringbag - Charles Lamb
Alone on a Wide Wide Sea - EE Barringer
Wings at Sea - Gerard A Woods
With Naval Wings - John Wellham
On and Off the Flight Deck - Hank Adlam

It's Really Quite Safe - G A "Hank" Rotherham

Carrier Observer - Gordon Wallace
Barracuda Pilot - Dunstan Hadley
Sakishima and Back - Stuart Eadon. He served on Formidable & Indefatigable
Kamikaze. The Story Off The BPF - Stuart Eadon. A collection of accounts from those serving in the Pacific.
David Hobbs has produced numerous books on the FAA down through the ages that are well worth checking out.
Norman Friedman - British Aircraft Carriers. Now split in two volumes with second due to be published later this year on post-war stuff.
There is a book series titled "From the Cockpit" that covers many FAA aircraft types, mixing aircraft histories with tales from those operating them - Swordfish, Barracuda, Firebrand, Attacker, Seafire etc.
Ask Amazon about individual carrier names / classes and you will get numerous volumes.
The "Warpaint" series covers many naval aircraft.
