Those are spectacular pieces.

I was recently talking to a friend of mine who is in the process of building a new tactical AR-15 and he asked me what I thought would look best on it and I said "wood".

He was caught off guard, as he had never considered or seen wood furniture on an AR-15 before. But it has been done and here's one exceptional example - a Turnbull TAR-10:

I too like the look and feel of fine wood BUT not in a combat weapon. I clearly recall the swelling and expanding and even cracking of the walnut M-14 stocks in the humidity of the jungle. So for pretty a hearty YEA but for actual use...NAY
That being said when I bought my HK 91 it was the wooden stock version
