More progress update on the P-38 also. Spent the last few days adding raw umber wash and mr color clear flat to the ol color parts and wheel well .Oil coiler screans painted with Tamiya XF-56 . Sad part after painting 24 oil cooler part you really wont see any of it once its glued on. Well now that both boom are done (33 parts per boom ) I started geeting the rest of the main airframe assembled . The fit on this kit is unreal . Just sad we had to wait so many years for Tamiya to come out with one . Still more a head

Nice work thus far. Unfortunately, once you get the front canopy on your won't be able to make out the details of the IP under standard lighting. You will have to shine a line in there to see it. Too bad since you got the LOOK IP panel.
Great job so far! Interesting subject, too. I found some information about the pilot Don "Bugs" Eberhardt which I wanted to share here.
As I understand, he was shot down in P-38J-25-LO Lightning H5☆B (44-23631) "Re" Double Trouble II on August 25, 1944 after a major engagement with Luftwaffe near Saint Quentin, France. He claimed 3 Fw-190 before colliding with another one attacking him. He bailed out at 1500 ft. and after landing civilians and Resistance helped him and others to hide in La Fère until the town was liberated. Here's "Double Trouble" P-38J-10-LO Lightning H5☆B (42-67408) 392nd FS, 367th FG, 9th AF, 1st Lt. Donald E. "Bugs" Eberhardt's previous ship on June 3, 1944. The damage seen below was occurred on June 22 during the attack on Cherbourg. Eberhardt probably had to change his plane and receive Double Trouble II after this mission. It is funny that the girls lost their clothes.
