GB-63 1/48 P-38 Lightning “Glop Glop”– Stormy Weather

I read some things about this kit having problems with alignment during assembly so I thought it might be a good idea to test fit everything.
It went together easily, and I found no problems with the alignment, and only one small issue with a step between the top wing part and the left boom shown in the last picture. There is also a smaller step in the same place on the right boom, but both should be easy to deal with now that I know about them before glueing them up.

It seems it could be either. A couple of the walk arounds on Prime Portal show silver, and Detail & Scale shows chromite green. I decided to go with Detail & Scale

Its good. Very good.
Panning in with a camera. It does not do it justice.
It destroys the illussion.
In the first star war a lot of the scenery was painted. I learned that 30 years later.
I bet a few beers it will be fab in the model when you are done.
