Decals are a mix of sets. The AN*H is made up of the old Monogram from there B-26 kit for the AN. these are very brittle so I used Microscale decal film to from them up. The H comes from a set Ministry of Small Aircraft Production B-26 decals. As they were the only H I could find I decal filmed them also. The Stars and Bars are from the kit and the nose are and momb mission count were from "Bedlam Creations" .The Monogram left a whit milky residue I tried to clean up but we'll have to see what it all looks like.

The monogram will need something strong and lotsa of it..... Solaset here we come.

Actually I shouldn't post that here because the model is almost done. but IMHO there wasn't the black colour at the bottom and sides. Looking at the so-called colour images of the kite I would say the B-26 had the camo livery consited of the OD/NG. It is a very shabby in fact with many smudges. The D-Day id strips were overpainted or the white was washed off contrary to the black that wasn't that easy to remove. For the reason there wasn't the black spot around the dorsal turret but there was an "empty" area where the white was applied. For the same reason the "N" letter had the outline noticed at its top in order to make the code letter being better readable at the white background there. Using the gamma correction it can be noticed that the shadows get more irregular shape except the area where the bottom edge of the top D-Day strips was as it was the straight line. Also the black tone disappears at the fuselage sides especially behind the wing root at the trailing edge and in front of the leading edge. What is more a slightly enlarged shot of the fuselage front reveals pixels of different tone that make a wavy demercation line at the fuselage bottom. Additionally the image with the crew of the bomber also shows that the "demarcation line " for colour tones at the cockpit area wasn't the straight line but irregular one what what is a result of a poor quality scanning of an image printed on a shiny paper. So just a light trick again. Just my two cents.

And here three B-26s of the 553rd BS ... none of them had the black colour at the sides and undersides.

All is fine Don. No problem with the black colour there. She is going to look very interesting with that and it doesn't diminish your work on the model. Still keeping my fingers crossed for you and the build.

The worst part is that after carefully looking with your commit I think I agree with you. the biggest clue is the paink on the nose glazing. If I had had this input befor deals I could have done something to fix it but now, well it's just too late. I cant replace the H. Damn it!!!!!

Well with the Thanksgiving holidays and the doctors visits I'm running a bit behind. I've looked the photos over till i'm blue in the face and while I seethe logic, I still believe the lower fuselage is black. They were operated by some groups painted like this and while I agree none of the others were so painted, We're going this way...

I added the grime around the fuel ports on the wings.

Using AK Grime and a sharp tipped cotton swab I just worked it around and I think it works.. bullie for me...
