Can't remember who it was (thinkin it was one of the delaying-action tankers during the opening stages of the Battle of the Bulge), but someone was taken before a German officer who was very senior to him. The guy walked into the German's office, and before the German could even say a word, stalked up to the German's desk and stated "We will accept your surrender." The German officer was speechless, and ended up walking out of the room without having said a word. You just GOT to admire balls!!! Frost did something similar during Market-Garden, when the Germans sent an envoy over the Arnhem bridge to discuss surrender terms...he refused, on grounds that the British paratroopers simply did not have enough space to billet all of the German prisoners. Totally threw the Germans.
