Hello, I'm new here!

Back in 2003 I wrote about my father's service as a navigator in Beauforts and 217 squadron, in a book called "From Coastal Command to Captivity", which was mostly his memoir. He became a POW in 1941, and spent a lot of time in Stalag Luft III. I'm always searching for more information.

I have also been collecting RAF compasses and bomb sights for some years, with a focus on pre-1942 items. I'm now looking to complete a Wimperis Course Setting Bomb Sight Mk 9, which needs a level, some windage scales, and a box.

Any help with either topic would be most welcome!

Best wishes,

Here are some pictures of the restoration process of the Mark 9 Wimperis sight and an SO compass.
The bombsight is missing the wind gauge arm (it should project over the compass). The SO compass would originally have had a plastic cover that blanked off about 280 degrees of the face, so the navigator could only see the actual course reflected in the prism. Any help on finding these items would be much appreciated!
