Welcome aboard from Northern California.
I used to be very active in the Sim community (Air Warrior, Jane's WW2 Fighters, CFS2, CFS3, etc.) and am very familiar with SIM Outhouse, Mudpond and the rest.
My original callsign was "Zerstorer" of Jv13, but after being referred to as that "bloody grey ghost" (my camo was always shades of gray), I adopted "GrauGeist".
Hope 2025 finds you healthy and prosperous.
It is good to meet you! My callsign from old days was known as "Eagle114th" when I flew Jane's series sims, starting with jane's ATF Gold and Fighter Anthology. And like you, I have experienced through many different simulations from Janes' series simulation to Microsoft CFS to Oleg's Il-2, these were amazing old days. And I also remember the 'warbird" sim back there, and at the same time, the Thirdwire SFP1, then come SFP2 (Strike Fighter series).
To this very day, I am part of community that is still modding Jane's Fighter Anthology and Jane's USAF while actively flying various Jane's sims. If you would like to join in discord, please let m eknow. I am still learning the rules here, I do not know if I can post discord here or not. (Can someone confirm if I can post discord link here).
The 19900s was the truly golden days of simming and now unfortunately, no one creates the great light to mid fidelity sims (Think of jane's F-15, F/A-18, WWII fighters, and IAF / USAF style), in pair with Thirdwire SFP2. Right now, there is only arcadish sims (Ace Combat / Project wingman) and DCS which is purely hardcore, hihgh fideity,/ "study sim". I miss the godlen balanc ebetween taht, therefore 'light or mid fidelity" style.
This is precisely hwy I am currenlty working on modding projects for SFP2 and Jane's USAF.
(That is also one of reason why I posted questions about A4Ds / A-4s gunsight / optical sight, hoping I can find answers.)
Anyway, like i said, it is great to see 1990s simmers here!
Cheers!
