HHello everyone,

I am new here. I have been simmers and modders for many decades since 1990s. I am happy to have found this place.

I grew up with great passiosn in military aviation of earliest era (WWI) to end of cold war (end of 1990s). I am somewhere fan of modern era. My most favorite era is early cold war (post war of late 1940s to end of 1970s), along with the golden age (1920s to 1930s).

I have seen this forum often but never took thhe chance to registry and be part of the community. I have been simmers and modders for many decades, since 1990s and have been to different forum from SimHQ to CombatAce to SAS1946 to many another. My forum name is known as Eagle114th. I am using new name HappyTotoro becasue I like Totoro.

I look forward learning and exchanging the information and knowlege in military aircraft and I am open to any topics from historical points of view (WWI to modern) along with alternative 'what if' world, such as 1946 situations, as well experimental / prototype aircraft. "What if' in semi-realistic ways if one of my favorite toipc. For example, I always wondered what would have it been if Hughes Falcon series have beena ble to continue with the development of XAIM-4H and another AAMs while advancing F-106s furthers?

Right now i mw working on two things; Gathering the informaiton / document on various aircraft for library and modding projects for various sims, such as Jane's USAF and Strike Fighter 2.

By the way, as 2025 approaches, let's do our best to enjoy the last week of 2024 and make the best out of new year 2025!

Cheers!

Welcome aboard from Northern California.

I used to be very active in the Sim community (Air Warrior, Jane's WW2 Fighters, CFS2, CFS3, etc.) and am very familiar with SIM Outhouse, Mudpond and the rest.

My original callsign was "Zerstorer" of Jv13, but after being referred to as that "bloody grey ghost" (my camo was always shades of gray), I adopted "GrauGeist".

Hope 2025 finds you healthy and prosperous.

It is good to meet you! My callsign from old days was known as "Eagle114th" when I flew Jane's series sims, starting with jane's ATF Gold and Fighter Anthology. And like you, I have experienced through many different simulations from Janes' series simulation to Microsoft CFS to Oleg's Il-2, these were amazing old days. And I also remember the 'warbird" sim back there, and at the same time, the Thirdwire SFP1, then come SFP2 (Strike Fighter series).

To this very day, I am part of community that is still modding Jane's Fighter Anthology and Jane's USAF while actively flying various Jane's sims. If you would like to join in discord, please let m eknow. I am still learning the rules here, I do not know if I can post discord here or not. (Can someone confirm if I can post discord link here).

The 19900s was the truly golden days of simming and now unfortunately, no one creates the great light to mid fidelity sims (Think of jane's F-15, F/A-18, WWII fighters, and IAF / USAF style), in pair with Thirdwire SFP2. Right now, there is only arcadish sims (Ace Combat / Project wingman) and DCS which is purely hardcore, hihgh fideity,/ "study sim". I miss the godlen balanc ebetween taht, therefore 'light or mid fidelity" style.

This is precisely hwy I am currenlty working on modding projects for SFP2 and Jane's USAF.

(That is also one of reason why I posted questions about A4Ds / A-4s gunsight / optical sight, hoping I can find answers.)

Anyway, like i said, it is great to see 1990s simmers here!

Cheers!

tororo, meaning troll. So. What are you.?

I do not understand what you are saying. Please allow me to tell you how I get name "Totoro" from;

There can be confusion with the names because one of country have names that can mean different in another country. I do not think it means "totoro" in Japan. It is generic name withh given character from the stories.

I am using the name "Totoro" from "HappyTotoro" because I like the character of big cat from the anime because he is hilarious, cheerful, silent, and powerful. He can roar causing the deafen loud sounds.

The anime name is "My Neighbor Totoro".

And I want to add one more thing, this anime is made by Hayao Miyazaki, he created many great known animes. One of my favorite is "The Wind Rises", I highly recommend it!
