Today at the airport I was quite surprised to see that someone had done a high quality flying restoration of a USMC HO5S1 helicopter.

I saw one used in the Project Blue Book TV series a few years ago and assumed it was CGI, but I guess it could have been this one.

The H-5 helicopter used in Korea by the USN and USAF was quite limited. On some missions they even had to leave a helo crew member at the crash site in order to evacuate the wounded, and I guess the HO5 was much more capable.

Likely couldn't find a flyable R-5/H-5/S-51/HO2S for the movie.

(as if they cared!)
