How old is this forum. (3 Viewers)

Who cares about post count... I'm all about the 👍 likes!!!
In the early years of the forum, we didn't have a like/dislike option.

We actually had to reply stating approval or otherwise!

Odd thing though, this shows the membership count....

.....so does it list only active members? I know there are hundreds of members who haven't been active for a great many years
There was a massive prune done a number of years ago. Dead accounts, bounced emails etc..
That is why the count is off from current user ID increment. :violent3:

Open your profile in a new tab, go to address bar, you must see somethibg like this:

Site name/members/your username dot #

That's your membership number.

Oh man, you are 3.5 weeks "older" than I! My "birthday" is Sept 15, 2006.
BTW where do the clever guys find their user numbers? I'm obviously not like them. :arghh:

🍻

Oh so that's why some of the really old accounts had like thousands of messages but no reactions.
Yep...

And then not long after we were able to like/dislike, the ultimate like was introduced: bacon.

AHF (Axis History Forum) still has no like/dislike option. If memory serves, that forum is actually older than our forum.
The site had an original forum, more like a discussion board, probably 2000/2001 time frame. There was no way to effectively import the data into the first proper forum software. Thus many of the first threads are me just copying over data ex. Beaufighter

So there was something before 2003, but wasn't a proper forum system. FYI

That was apparently the time that you could still post your full email address on the web :) I guess nowadays you would start a Discord server and the the forum would already be gone by now.

What was the reason you moved to a proper forum?

I meant in 2003
Ahh...then that is a wee bit before my time, then.
