The tear drop tank on the left is the Hydraulic Reservoir.
The brass tank on the right looks to be the Header Tank (coolant) for the Intercooler.

The bottom pictures with the Header Tank missing are civilian owned aircraft where the systems may have been modified from their original wartime configuration.
In addition, there may be system differences between the various Merlin and Griffon engined models.

I have some merlin & spitfire experience as an aircraft engineer. I would say this tank is the intercooler header for HF MkVIII MKIX Merlin 70 engined aircraft. As correctly answered by previous reply, the other tank is the hydraulics reservoir for the undercarriage system.
