I asked her if she would go with me to an airplane event, the wings over Solano air show the past week, she said yes we went and we had a little fun, and then the next day nothing. I looked online and it looks like her and her boyfriend are still together and they are planning to go on a cruise in the next couple months. go figure that day we "had fun" she told me she was in love with me and she wanted to run off with me to another state but that night as we both went to my apartment she left, God knows when. the thing that's weird, she doesn't have a car.

but I'm done with love stories It's time just to settle with someone else that's not gonna run away

thanks for helping guys, you helped enough to build up my courage but she popped it like a balloon.

I read about a man who was a relationship counsellor. The usual deal, conferences, web page advice etc etc....

He gave the whole thing up one day as he said he was given the best advice about long term relationships which
cannot be refuted.

He was in his seat on a plane and he always likes to ask people he meets what they would advise for
long term happiness.

He was seated next to an older couple so he asked them how long they had been together. The
wife said they had been married for 55 years.

He said wow and then asked what her advice for a long happy marriage would be. She looked at him and said
"Let the other person be who they are, and bloody well put up with it".

WARSPITER WARSPITER got it in one in his last line.

Many of us here have been in your shoes and moved on. Most have not regretted that decision. In my case I got a real winner a few years later. At our wedding all the betting was divorce within six months. We are coming up 48 years and I have no regrets.
Agree with above. Me and the missus have just had our 45th and divorce has never come up......murder, yes, but never divorce

Rule # 4
"But we can still be friends" is the kiss of death.
That just means she expects you to be there when she needs something.

Even worse, the phrase is a complete lie. It's impossible for men and women to have platonic relationships. We're simply not programmed that way. One half of the "friendship" will want something more which means the other half is exploiting that desire to impose their will ("be there when [he/]she needs something") on the other. It NEVER ends well!

Haven't heard from her since.......I went on a date with a woman a couple Fridays ago, She seemed nice we went to a good Mexican food place, all went well, 3 dates later and her and I are together. My son loves her, so at least he's happy!

I always say to myself love finds a way... though usually it takes the scenic route, gets lost twice, and accidentally adopts a family of three. But hey, no complaints.....lol
