Watching ice pilots flying a C-46 full of cargo...how do you work out range and what safety margins are legal? I know they can't land on fumes.

The variables must be weight, temperature, altitude, winds and the mpg of the engines. Considering there are 2 of them are they gonna burn fuel at same rate?
