    Is that a question?

At 1300 hours a large formation of 54 Ju 87s from StG 2 crossed the Channel east of the Isle of Wight. Their target was the airfield at Tangmere. Despite being intercepted by Hurricanes of RAF no 43 and 601 sqdns, several Stukas dropped their loads over the airfield, destroying 7 Hurricanes, 6 radar-equipped Blenheims of the Fighter Intercetion Unit and a Magister trainer on the ground. Two hangars were destroyed and 3 others were badly damaged as well as the workshop, fire hydrants and pumphouse, all of which recieved direct hits. Stores, sick quarters, the officer's mess and the command post were partially hit causing sevre structural damage. A squadron of Hurricanes got past the escort and managed to destroy 8 Stukas and damaged 6 more before the dive-bombers headed for home with several more smoking on the return flight. The Ju 87s claimed 2 Hurricanes shot down including one from 601 Sqdn.

This is the only operation for StG 2 for that day that I have found. Maybe one of the lost Ju 87s was forced down and claimed as destroyed.
