Just got 1946 yesterday, AWESOME!
I'm watching the bonus DVD,In BoB The wheels, suspension, recoil, nearly everything works in the vehicles
and the Merlin isn't the sound all the other planes use anymore, they even threw in a modern aerobatics plane
and even an airshow

oh and the BR.20M and Blenheim is flyable in BoB

and i didn't see any crappy "forests" like in IL-2

and the X-4 sometimes bursts prematurely, and planes with ejection seats aren't safe to get out of on the ground

oh, i just checked the website of our local retailer and they said it just came the day i bought it

whats your version of IL-2 FB?
the latest stand-alone FB patch is 1.22, adds B-17G and C-47 AI and P-51D-NT, A6M5 and Ki-84 flyable

this is fun!
especially Lerches and X-4s
if you run out of ammo in Lerches, you can just ram them with the outer ring thingy, it never breaks, i've only seen the lerche break in half, it's also easy to ram a lerche, with all it's speed and acceleration

It's just so hard (but fun) to land

yup, 4.07 is the last major add-on, 4.08 AFAIK are just bug fixes
you could have gotten yours earlier than mine if u wanted, it first came out in UK and Europe

the life of a Lerche (my first landing which the lerche could be used again)
the last screenshot was an error with the stabiliser

I do have 1946 (was incredibly marketed in Italy before US), no special news except the 'fantasy' planes.
Joystick input looks smoother, that translates in better control of the planes, FM seems unchanged except some improvement on the Macchi 205 (that finally can make a gentle turn w/o stall, the 4.04 FM was really an abort)

Will see if I can post some screenshot this weekend

1946 came out in UK and europe first

the Ta-183 completely sucks ass in 4.07m (aside from the four X-4s )
and in QMB if flying against it it just flies straight (i killed one with a Pe-2 by forming up next to it and the rear gunner just killed it)

but now, after i downloaded 4.071m, it's actually a fighter! it climbs almost as well as the new salamanders and 262s... though not as good, it has the most X-4s! though it's acceleration still sucks compared to the other jets

you won't be seeing much of these without 4.071m, heck you would barely catch up to the B-29s

not until you download the patch, it's an uber jet like the He-162D and C and the Me-262HG-II

oh and the Ta-183s rock if you give them commands, and if they have fighter cover... and X-4s, heck the AIs can actually take them on themselves (with figher cover and no bomber escorts)

dude, after you get it, download 4.071m, i tell you, I killed 4 ace LaGG-3RDs with it, but it gets owned by most other jets (if you face them 4:1)

now with 4.07m you can kill it with a Pe-2, form up with it and it wont even move (unless by waypoint) because the Ta-183 of 4.07m (the unpatched 1946 DVD) will just fly straight with its waypoints, unless they're your wingmen and you do commands.... that stuff is fixed in the patch

now the He-162C D if used properly can kill any soviet jet, the best i've done so far was myself against 3 YP-80s

and the LaGG-3RD is the IMO worst jet in the game (even with 4.071m) it performs like a prop with a jet engine
