With lanc though I dont think Fi-156 escorts would cause him many problems...Ill try and take out a couple of bombers in the first head on pass and then go for the escorts straight away...

When I'm in charge (in the campaigns) I order my wing to attack the bombers, and I personally go for the escorts. I'll only go bomber hunting when there's no escorts or the only escorts are far away.

Why? Because I'm scared of bombers!

Heres alittle scenario I flew this morning...

Im in my -110G, with 2x30mm Mk108 and a 37mm, looking for Russians... I find a hapless Pe-2 all by himself... I sneak up on him, and let the gunner get in the first shot... Then I blew him up...

Unfortunatly, the gunner was very skilled, and shot my crate full of holes.... I lost an engine and my gear, so a belly landing outside of Moscow was required....

very interesting............boy graphics have sure come a long way ....

ok how about trying to catch a B-24 of B-17 formation with the same type of a/c ? heres the deal Les, make a 110G-2 but what you need to do is cover up the upper nose bulges and have lower nose 2cm and then an underfuselage weapons pod with two 2cm weapons. like the pic I am including.......from II./ZG 1 in the alps winter of 1944 looking for US heavies.

there are no markings on the nose like the mouth or NJG abzeichen

superb shots les!

U're a damn good shooter!

I've been playing Il2 FB/AEP/PF for about 2 months now and I'm learning how to fly in order to kill and not get killed ;)
well, the results... could be better, but still could be much worse.

One thing that makes me pi**ed are the gunners in the soviet planes, esp. in Pe2. They're kind of marksmen.

Approaching the bastard from six above in slight dive and I receive one shot from him - fatal shot, straight in my head.

Hullo, something wrong?

Some IL2 gamers have complained that many of the Russian planes in the game appear to be "porked", with unrealistic abilities compared to the other planes in the game. They think this might be because the game developers are Russian.

Maybe it's true, I wouldn't know. I'm no WWII fighter pilot, myself. ;)
I still think it's a great game.

yes, it is a great game. Truly, the il2 series is awesome.

But just imagine the chap sitting in the tailgunner's post.

the place itself is unfomfortable, narrow, small, there's lot of noise and above all it shakes all the time.
How the hell you can hit the quickly approaching target, a small, very small fighter in the cockpit with the single shot?
It would be HUGE luck, but rather impossible

and one more funny thing. I noticed that in several soviet planes in the game (il2 m3, pe2) the gunner tends to shot with the incredible angle (for example through elevators).
hmmm

Well, heres Erichs scenario... Twin 20mm Ventral Pod... B-24's were set to Veteran...
