I was surprised to learn that of the 338,000 allied troops returned to England some 40% were French. Unmentioned is that of the ~130,000 French troops rescued, some 100,000+ were repatriated shortly after arrival in England and many returned to fight with the French army until the end. Some 3,000 French joined the De Gaulle's Free French army in Britain. According to Wikipedia. The numbers don't appear to add up.
