Introduction and Question

My name is Paul Knight. My uncle served in the 15th Air Force, 301st Bombardment Group, 301st Bombardment Wing, 32nd Bombardment Squadron from 1946 until Jan 17, 1949. The B29 he was on crashed in Scotland on that date as it was returning to the home station at Smoky Hills AFB in Salinas Kansas. All my family knows about his service is that he enlisted in Jan 1946. And in March of 1946 he joined the AAF at Ft. Mclellan Alabama. He also attended electrical school in Chanute field in Illinois. Does anyone have any information about the training he may have gone through, the positions he may have had (aircrew or groundcrew), and what life may have been like for him while at Smoky Hills or RAF Scampton?
