Although it was post-war, if you have not heard of the Saunders-Roe Princess you might want to look it up. Any flying boat that can cruise at 360 mph TAS at 32,000 ft while crossing the Atlantic (UK to New York Harbor non-stop) and carrying 20,000 lbs+ of passengers and cargo is AWESOME!
