High Holiday greetings for all my Jewish friends on the forum. Tomorrow Is the eve of Rosh Hashanah,
the Jewish New Year. Thursday with be the first day of the year 5771.

To all my Jewish friends I wish you a Happy New Year, joy, peace, and good luck in all you do.

As we speak I am in the midddle of making dinner for 15 people. Its like Summer Thanksgiving!

If you're a man of few words, "Shalom" will do. It means peace. It you're raising your glass in a toast, then "L'Chayim" is the word you want.
It means "to life", or as we say in the USA, "cheers".

In Russian you dont say "happy new Year", just "New Year". Its a sign of respect to say it that way

I usually just use a warm and friendly "Dude." Works for all occasions!
