The Grumman Duck was in the Biesbos. It's a famous piece of nature and wetlands, that was created by the big St Elizabeth floods in 1421. And with the lovely weather, a nice place to be nowadays (probably not in 1421).

Was at the Waterloopbos again last week, like I described in post #884,
To show one of the things they did there, I wanted to show you the model they made of the Rhine and IJsel rivers. Near Arnhem, the IJssel splits from the Rhine and they wanted to test what measurements to take for all kinds of calamities. So they made both rivers at scale.
This is the river Rhine. In the distance, you can see the dam that regulates the water to the model.

The "rivers" are very popular with the frogs.
Another model was a model of the harbour of Marsa-el-Bregha in Libia. These are the old machines to create waves.

Nowadays all these things are done in computer models, but you got to love analogue technologies. It's much cooler I think.
