Melb Model Expo (2008)

the B52 looks really strange in silver to me as I am most used to seeing the one at Duxford in my mind when I imagine a B52.

both B52 and B36 look great though 8)

Wow nice!

Anyone shed any info on the scheme of that bird?

I like the 'big birds', Wayne..... really nice. All the others are good too,
but that B-36 stands out. Good pic's..... compliments to the photog.

Thanks Charles...

Nice!

What are the advantages and disadvantages of a vacuform compared to just plain old plastic like we build?

Vacforms are usually limited run kits of subjects not done by mainstream kit companies...some are very basic, some have extra parts, resin, etch etc but not always. There is much more work and skill required to build a vacform and quite often scratch building of some stuff is necessary.

Check Ian Lancs Whitworth Vacform build on the second page of the modelling forum...

Oh...and here is second place Mk.8 Meteor...
