With all of the above my most sincere condolences. My maternal grandmother was like a mother to me as mom worked.

My mom worked, and my dad and mom were divorced so my grandparents were effectively part time parents. They did a pretty good job I'd say.

She had been suffering with dementia symptoms for some time and over the past few months or so, maybe a year, she was basically immobilized and could barely speak at times. She died at home, which I suppose is better than most people, though it's still awful.

She started breathing abnormally (they call it a death rattle) at night on 6/1, and died in the afternoon of 6/2.

She was 94 years old.

Ouch! Same age as my mom.

My heartfelt sympathies. I hate to mention this, but too many kids these days are spoiled brats. You took care of her. That meant everything. Just take comfort in that.
