No actually I can completly deny Hip Hop! You wanna know why? Because I dont like it!

That does not make me....simply stupid!

I dont like the beats, I dont like the way it "flows", I dont like how the vocalist is only rhyming. It is like talking. It is not singing to me. That is commercial hip hop as well as non comercial hip hop. It is all crap to me.

That is my opinion, that does not make me stupid.

Using your logic here I will assume that since you dont like most forms of rock then that is simply stupid...

See what I am getting at here Pisis. Not everyone likes the same things that you do. Believe it or not, there is a large population that does not like hip hop and thinks of it the same way that I do.
 
I too don't like it. However, about 20 years ago when it became a recognizable genre, I distinctly remember saying to whoever would listen that this is a fad that will go away in a couple of years.

Boy was I wrong.
 
I was so taken aback by the utter lack of musical content that I would have bet a princely sum that I would be right. Still can't fathom how this genre is hanging around in the "music" scene. It belongs more in the less mainstream poetry subculture where wierdos and fags string sentences together that only random neuron firings could comprehend. And then call it art.
 
I see this leads to nowehere... I didn't say I don't like rock. I sad I dislike hardrock... Each person has of course the right to say their opinion but you're simply don't know whyt you're missing.

No Pisis what dont you understand about the fact that there are plenty of people that dont like Hip Hop. I am not missing anything. I love rock and hard rock. I love Heavy Metal. I love 50's Rock and Roll, I love 70s Punk and Rock, I love 80s Glam Rock.

One thing that I dont like is Hip Hop. I hate it...

It is not music to me. Matt up there put the best description of the genre that I have heard on this website. It is not music to me.

So what the **** is your problem, do not belittle me because I think the hip hop style of music is no better than ****! I really am getting tired of it. If I dont like your music then that is my opinion. You dont like music that is your opinion.

I dont try and make you like my music, so please give it up. Hip Hop and rap will never be music to me. It will never be more than ****, and I aint missing anything!!!!!
 
...them's fightin' words. I don't think that anyone is trying to provoke anyone here. I truly think that those who like rap believe that it is an art form that hits an emotional nerve. Okay. So be it. To each his own. However, sampling someone elses music and playing it over and over layered with electronic drums while reading poetry is so far removed from the music scene that this is where I take offense. Not offense from Pisis, but rather from rap artists and rap afficionados who wish to legitimize their antics.

I'm not about to say that rap is not or has not influenced music. It has. Absolutely. And likely will be around making further influence in the years to come. I have to bite my tongue to say that, but I have lost the battle already. But I don't have to like it.

Your right. It is no music at all. And I do understand that it is a lifestyle and I dont like that lifestyle. I dont consider it art. I dont like the way people dress in such baggy clothes with there underwear showing. I find that offensive.

I dont want to see some idiots underwear with his pants around his ankles walking around town. I dont like the hats worn sideways with the tags still attached them.

I dont like the oversized jewelry "bling bling". Its trashy and tacky to me.

I dont consider tagging a lifestle either. I dont consider it art. I dont think that hip hop lifestyle promotes anything useful.

You are entitled to opinion Pisis but I dont have to agree with it.

Pisis I am not pissed off at you, please dont take offense, but you have to realize that not everyone "loves" this so called Hip Hop culture. I think it sucks, and I understant that is more than music....

It has to be more than music, since it is not music at all but rather noise...

your correct it isn't just music its cheap and easy to make and the music industry likes that plus they don't have to pay residuals for any length of time as usually the artists end up killing each other which is a good thing . Its plainly music for 12 - 17 year old kids with all the trappings of fashion and styles
