That view shows perfectly why the Ryujo "Prancing Dragon" was considered to be top heavy and unstable in moderate sea conditions. It was an interesting design attempt, very much Like the USS Ranger. Really only good for training or emergency operations.

Any resemblance between the Ki-10 and the Curtiss P-1 is merely a coincidence, I'm sure.

I suspect this is actually a Ki-1 because of the open cockpits and open nose turret. The ring cowlings and open L/G struts are another clue. We need our expert on Japanese aircraft for confirmation.

I went with the Japanese translation of the photo, but I open to any information to make sure it is correctly identified.
