I think they're pulling the prop through, before a start attempt. It moves the oil out of the bottom cylinders and prevents engine damage.

I don't think hand propping an engine that size could be safely successful.

Well, I understand that there were actual victories scored by Ansons that inspired this box art?



At this point the Brits will chime in and assure us that Ansons scored 324 confirmed victories over Luftwaffe fighters and were the scourge of the skies until the jet age. I especially like how that single .303 machine guns is blowing the Wulf's gear right out of the wing.

Just like the deadly Boulton Paul Defiant.

Yep. Most of the Q-ship stuff has leaked out years ago but the Q-planes are still classified (except for the QHurricane - also known as the Defiant).

One officer I worked with in LA had a silver Datsun 240Z. Someone vandalized it by spraying green paint in irregular blotches down the sides and I told him he had a WW2 Japanese camo scheme.

Also, different propellers. AR525 has a de Havilland and EP965 has the Rotol.

EP was sent to Malta and crashed in March 43. AR525 went to North Africa. According to AllSpitfirePilots site.

It also looks like EP has a C wing with 4 cannons and AR a C wing with 2?
