Me too! The Saratoga was marked with a distinctive black vertical stripe on her funnel, while the Lexington had a smaller, horizontal stripe at the top of her funnel.Those two are beautiful.

Thanks, I hadn't thought of that.I could not find any specific details, it appears the nose might have caught fire and fallen off. Here is another image of the same aircraft, presumably the pictures were taken after the plane was moved from its original location for salvage.
