An air-to-air left side view of a Soviet Il-14 Crate aircraft involved in the search and rescue operations for the downed
Korean Airlines 747 (Flight KAL 007), over the Sea of Japan, 8 September 1983. KAL 007 was shot down by a Soviet
aircraft when it was suspected of being a surveillance mission over Sakhalin Island.
 
How ironic, air sea "rescue" operations after they caused the the tragedy!
