I loved the VC-10. I grew up near JFK (and NASNY). I would watch those beautiful VC-10s soar overhead. And they did seem to soar so I nicknamed them "dynasoars". Sort of a 13 year old's inside aviation joke.

I flew on BOAC VC-10s in the mid-70s. A little cramped but not too different from a 707.

Interesting. I thought that the TU4 had twin 23mm in each of the gun positions. That top turret seems to have more than two guns.
This is an illusion caused by either a shadow from the gun barrel or a film/printing defect. This photo is shown in almost every source about the Tu-4 - at least, known to me, but none of them contain any confusion about the number of barrels of the dorsal turret.
Moreover, some Tu-4s were armed with 20-mm B-20 cannons.

I thought they were 23mm cannons?

Informative. I can't read cyrillic but if you say so, I believe my comet was more to standard armament but I haven't looked at a Tu-4 for a long time.
