very close to Goose Bay could have caused grief with fake signals in radio comms or navaids .Goose Bay was a major ferry departure point for Ferry Command both US and others , the next radio signals would been Greenland 800nm away and not all the crews crossing were experts . Major known example would be Glacier Gal
