On his behalf, cheers guys.
The shaped ice cream sticks on the sides he put on as 'intakes', the lower straight ones are skid undercarriage to protect the nose and lower fuselage. Fishing weights mark the sliding part of the canopy, and balance her - yep, she sort of glides!
 
The resemblance is there!

This is his latest creation, a floating model Catamaran for a school project. His own design, made using 2 ice coffee cups, 4 plastic straws, 1 yoghurt lid, and a sail made from daddy's thin sheet styrene.
I helped him with some little bits, but most of it he did himself. Pretty cool I reckon
