My son Noah is making this out of paper towel rolls and cardboard box lids, etc (his own design).

The shaped ice cream sticks on the sides he put on as 'intakes', the lower straight ones are skid undercarriage to protect the nose and lower fuselage. Fishing weights mark the sliding part of the canopy, and balance her - yep, she sort of glides!
