Here's my models with a twist. My view on my own "evolution" so to speak. The first is from the last century when Pactra and Testors little square bottles of paint ruled my hobby. An ancient but nice 1/48 Revell Bf-109G-10. The second is from a year or 2 ago, another Bf-109 G type subject but a 1/48 Hasegawa kit with a spray job, putty, ETC, wet sanding the whole 9 yards. Does look far better but doesn't have the "character" the first one has. LOL.

A few models I've built, some that need to be painted and finished off , a bit of the star wars collection and a pic of the workbench.

That tooth caught me old eye!
I have one, bought at age 8 maybe, 1951, at the Steinhardt Aquarium S.F. My mother tried throwing it away,
my first wife did the same. It was not etched when I bought it. A co-worker machinist and artist friend
Arne Jensen did that work in 1976. For years he had been doing some scrimshaw on PVC pipe until we
met. I handed this bare tooth over to him in '74 I think. Never questioned when it would be returned.
My only request was King Neptune on one side the other was up to him. In the mean time, he and his son,
a friend and his son sailed from S.F. to Tahiti on a little 30 footer. He radioed in every day position, I had
a map on the office wall and plotted their trip. When they returned by air, he said he was ready to do
my Orca tooth. So as tradition dictated he sat down with "shark skin" to polish, knife and ink,
no references and scratched away. It's a prized possession! I later found four more random whale teeth
from various sources, they were payment for what he had done for me.

Amazing craftsmanship and a definite family heirloom. Ummm, did he use an image of you to create the Neptune carving?? Sure looks familiar based on your posted image!

That tooth looks amazing , done a great job with the carving , im not sure what animal my tooth is from , my pop gave it to me years ago , i think its from some type of whale because he lived in streaky bay in south australia and lived his life on the ocean , he use to mount alot shark jaws for people and my nanna use to collect shells , few pics
