How did that plane get into town?

Because of Nazi German bombing of the Okęcie airfield and the PZL factory in Warsaw , the first PZL P-50As of the pre-production batch and the second prototype were evacuated. On the 3rd September 1939 , the not finished planes were brought by HGVs to the Citroen & Renault service station in Warsaw at the the intersection of the Czerniakowska and Górnośląska Streets. On the 5th September while the PZL workers were evacuating from Warsaw the planes were abandoned there and later captured by Germans..
