Ferdinand Foch

Staff Sergeant
Hey guys, I'm just curious. When did the British Army officially replace their scarlet red uniforms with the Khaki. I heard it was in the 1880's, but then I've heard that a lot of soldiers during the Sepoy Mutiny of 1857 changed out their redcoats for the khaki outfits that a lot of Sikh soldiers were wearing. I just need a little clarification on this issue. Thanks.
