These 2 pdf attachments were generated by Colin Hinson, from a Crown copyright document held at R.A.F. Henlow Signals Museum. It is presented here (for free) under the Open Government Licence (O.G.L.) and this version of the document is Colin Hinson's copyright (along with the Crown Copyright) in much the same way as a photograph would be. The document should have been downloaded from his website Radar

The Mark III? The "first" IFF set? There were also Marks I& II.

The Mark I was developed in 1939 and worked only with the CH radar system so never entered service.

The Mark II was developed from late 1939 and worked with Army, RAF and RN radar sets. It entered widespread use from mid-1940.

Only then do we get to the Mk.III in 1942.
