Any idea why there's two seats in the kit, is it an older and a modern seat, or?

Nice buy. :thumbright:

If you read the kit instruction carefully you will find that one seat is for the planes with markings A,C,D,E while the second one is for the B one.

Yes, most NATO users fitted the Martin Baker seat in place of the Lockheed C1, although Holland and Canada retained the C1 seat.

Nice pics old chap. I have the Hasegawa 1/32nd scale kit, to do as a Dutch example, in a similar scheme to the German one.

Thanks for the reminder about 'Aeroplane' magazine's feature on the F-104 Jim. It was announced in last month's mag, but I forgot all about it - must get a copy.

Glad i could help. I flipped through it. Like I said it was pretty good. Can always depend on them to dig up some rare and awesome pictures. Would have bought it if I had more than a passing interest.

I know what you mean Jim. These days, I only buy 'Aeroplane' or 'Fly Past' if there's something of real interest in them. I think that 'Fly Past' is nowhere near as good these days, compared to when it first came out, over thirty years ago - it seems to be more centered around (excellent) colour shots, rather than real 'meaty' features, as it used to be, although I admit there are sometimes some good, and useful, articles and photos.
