Darned good value for money in your case then, Aaron.
I bought a couple of resin Hamilton Standard props for Pp-47s, from Ultracast in Canada. With the cost of the props, and the Import Duty, the total wasn't that far off what you paid for the entire kit !
After that, needing a third HS prop, I made my own from a kit hub and Mosquito 'paddle blades' !!!

I have always much preferred the Hamilton Standard tot he Curtiss Electric. Just looks more the part on the P-47.

That's a heck of a lot of detail in such a small model. Last time I built a small-scale ship was back in the 1960's, with the Airfix HMS Cossack, which was crude compared to that !!

The detail is awesome Terry. Some moulded in some to be added.

I used to do some of the water line ships, 1/700. but I just can't seem to get past the price they are asking these days for them.

They are certainly not cheap i try to get most of mine via Hobbylink Japan to get the best deal that way i am paying say...$35 with post rather than $50 plus locally.

And here is the othe rhalf of the delivery...

Nice stuff Wayne.
Two questions - is that last kit for the ships, the docks, or both ?
And do you have to pay Import Duty when buying kits from Japan ?
I've sometimes thought of getting stuff from Hobbylink, but in the UK, on imports outside of the EU, there's normally a 20% tax on the value of the parcel contents and the postage costs, plus a £8 Royal Mail 'handling fee', although stuff from China has arrived without these charges !

Nice Wayne, looking forward to seeing your added details on the 1/3000 kit.
This one is Kure Naval Port, went here on my trip to visit the Yamato Museum, it was this port where yamato was built and it is in the kit, will post some images of the components, have Yokosuka and Sasebo Ports as well.
Geo

Good Lord Wayne, you're giving Jan a run for the money!

Yep, trying to...:D

Now you can have all those naval battles in the front room. Boom, Boom. How do you display them when done? Glass top?

First lot I built years ago are in a coffee table, now going on bases and will go in my cabinet.

You get docks, cranes and ships...a nice little setup for 1/3000 scale.

No extra charges down here..not yet anyway, just the postage rate from Japan.

Been bad again. One trip to Austin and picked up my 109G-6, Pro Modeler SB2C, and the Tamiya 262, then Sprue Brothers sent out there weekend special, an additional 20% off all all specially priced items. So Cyber Hobby 110 D and E and Dragon 190A-8. I've been reading my JG300 book and the Eduard 190 NachtJager was found on the Ebay for $34 and free shipping. So I won't be coming out to play. Oh and the 410 was a swap with Dale, he had two and I have a lot to swap with him.

This finally arrived from the old world. I think I ordered it before I went on strike. Anyway, if you are thinking of adding this to your stash be advised some of the first runs of this kit where missing the photo etched cowling flaps. If this happened to you I understand you can get a replacement through that huge hobby shop in the NL.
