Great pickup Jeff. I had the one on the right and built it somewhere in a Start to Finish thread. The checkers on the tail worked great, fitting almost perfectly. The red flash at the front.....not so much. I totally botched them as they kept folding over on themselves and finally ripping. I think cutting them in half or even into 3 pieces might be a better option
Found it. From 2012. Looks like you put a few miles on to get this one done. Perhaps the most expensive 1:48 scale P-40 ever built.

Picked the following up at the Eduard store. The 109 will be a probable subject for GB37. The wheels are for my FW190A-5 for GB 36. The belts are a trial as I'm out of PE belts but I see disappointment coming. They are called "Superfabric" belts and, having now looked closer, they seem to be a peel and stick affair complete with buckles - not what I was imagining. I guess we'll see when they get here.

Good stuff Andy.
I'll be interested to see those seat belts. I've used the HGW microfibre belts in 1/32nd scale, which are excellent, but their 1/48th scale items are described, by Hannant's, as 'microplastic' with PE buckles etc. Don't know if that's a typo, or if they are actually very thin plastic. The Eduard ones look interesting.

Just picked a brand new one of these up on E Bay. Price $19.99usd plus $8.00usd shipping for a total of $27.99usd then add in the Canadian exchange rate and my grand total came to $35.67 Canadian. A steal of a deal as these bad boys go for north of $90.00 in the stores in these parts. $19.99 was the starting bid price so an hour before she closed I tossed in a minimum bid. I didn't think it would hold as there were 11 other watching so I was certainly surprised that she is coming my way. Always wanted a stringbag, perhaps some day I will be able to pick up a wheeled version but for now.....WOOHOO!

Cheers,

Jeff

That's a great deal Jeff. However, the model will also cost you several hundred dollars in in psychological counselling when you do the rigging. There's a PE rigging set you can get separately and it might be a consideration.

Even though I am retired I still have a full benefits plan till age 65. As.long as I tackle her before then I will be okay. When I decide to go crazy I will consider the extra market rigging kit for sure.

Just messing around on the net today and located these available on Kijiji. Contacted the guy and after some negotiation I snagged them both for a total of $100.00 Canadian. Another sweet deal. I wont get a chance to pick them up for a couple of weeks as Mexico calls tomorrow. Flight is at 10:30 am local time but arrangements have been made to get them upon my return. Got my wheeled Swordfish and it only took a few days, WooHoo ! again
