Just arrived today, and although not modelling stuff, they're certainly modelling related.
My new photo lighting.

As some of you will have seen in my Spitfire Mk.VIII thread in the current (almost ended) GB, I had problems with the puny lights supplied with the photo studio light box - they were as dim as a Toc H lamp, caused shadows from their own lamp housings, and were nowhere near tall enough for use with the fairly large 'tent' light box They were also next to useless when used in diffusion, shining through the light box sides.
So I got these babies - 1,000 Lumens each, with 60 LED's per lamp at 5,500 Kelvin colour temperature.
There are two filters provided for each lamp - a white diffuser, to soften the light but still at 5,500K, and an orange filter, to provide a 'warmer' effect at 3,300 K.
As can be seen in the photos, they are taller than the single bulb lamps provided with the light box (shown at right), with a much larger lighting head, giving very much stronger, even and shadow free coverage, and the height can be increased by unfolding the extensions within the tripod legs (not shown in the photos).
The final pic, of the Spitfire model, was taken with the little Fuji compact digital camera, hand held, using just one of the new lamps, fitted with the white diffusing filter, with the lamp about 20 inches away from the model, and just roughly positioned.
I am now a happy bunny !
