Scored this one reasonably cheaply on ePay. Never heard of the Flashback brand before and seems like they no longer exist. I'd be interested to know if anyone has built one of their kits before.

Nicely done. Now put it up on a display case and pick up the Airfix for a real build you'll enjoy. Well unless you're into some extra pain. Of course it can be a learning tool. You will learn a lot.Scored this one reasonably cheaply on ePay. Never heard of the Flashback brand before and seems like they no longer exist. Ha! Just read the link over on Britmodeller. Looks like this kit is going to be a huge challenge. Can't say I haven't been warned now...Boulton Paul Defiant Mk.Ia. Flashback, 1/48.
Well, the tittle says it all.......Someone will think there's no need to suffer when you build a scale model. With the new Airfix's Defiant readily available, what's the use of building such a painful kit as the Flashback one..??' It's actually the OLD (and I mean the earliest) Classic Airframes'...www.britmodeller.com
It's called Flashback because you'll need a therapist to get over all the cold sweats and flashbacks you'll have for years to comeHa! Just read the link over on Britmodeller. Looks like this kit is going to be a huge challenge. Can't say I haven't been warned now...
One of the newer ones yes. I won it on eBay for $38. I thought that was pretty good because as you stated, they are very expensive. And it's still sealed. I have like 3 of the Cafereo 1/144 scale ones I won, but never built. I made up my mind to upgrade everything to 1/72 or 1/48 scale. That Emily is the new kit I assume? Would like to get, but the price is no joke!
Sir you are so right! I purchased another one earlier this month that was open, but sealed in bags for $44 and older. I love the size of them. That's a steal!
My daughter saw me looking at it and says " I want one for my birthday ". Oy! as my friend says. And watch, tomorrow Hasegawa will release a new mold "Mavis"!
Older is not always bad. Maybe the only on you can get. Many times I think they are better. The Monogram Century Series in 48th scale is one, the only complete set and even with newer kits from Trumpeter (F-100 & 106) Kitty Hawk (F-101) they are still the most accurate kits. In the case of the F-104 there maybe better but that's with Kinetic and Hasegawa.Thank you! Built around 20 in various stages of completion, but didn't finish because school started. I don't like trying to work on anything when teaching. Too many other things to do. Did get a Hasegawa H6K5 today. Older kit, but I really wanted one.
